Tuesday afternoon just took a quick turn for the better. League sources tell Upside & Motor that former NBA All-Star Baron Davis has signed a contract with the NBA D-League.

Clearly, this is the route Davis has chosen for an NBA comeback. Now 36-years-old, Davis has been out of the NBA since the 2011-12 season when he played 29 games for the New York Knicks before suffering a horrific knee injury.

NBA veteran Jordan Hamilton spoke to U&M about the signing: “I’ve been training with Baron Davis since I returned home from Russia. Dude still got it, man!”

Davis will enter the D-League’s waiver period of two days, where teams can claim him based on a waiver priority list. The Austin Spurs, affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs, currently sit at the top waiver spot. If Davis goes unclaimed, he will enter the general player pool where he can be acquired by any team on a first come, first serve basis.

Let’s all get ready for the return of Boom Dizzle!
