The Raptors 905 have been playing much better as of late, and their chemistry is really starting to show. This is a brand new system for all of these players and the positive signs are blossoming 30 games into the season.

The 905 are 12-20, and while the team and players are disappointed in that mark, they have done better than the last two expansion teams. Two seasons ago the Delaware 87ers finished 12-38; just last season the Westchester Knicks posted a 10-40 record. It’s feasible that the 905 could reach 22 wins this year and match the combined total of the last two expansion teams. That’s got to count for something.

The Raptors are also 7-3 over their last 10 and while the playoffs seem like a far-fetched goal at this juncture, they are only 6.5 games back on the Westchester Knicks, who are currently leading the Atlantic Division. If there’s any legacy that Kevin Garnett has left behind, it’s that anything is possible!

The team has two players heading to D-League All-Star Weekend with Ronald Roberts Jr. being named an All-Star and our diary aficionado Scott Suggs participating in the 3-point shootout.

Diary Entry

Hellooooo! And Happy Black History Month! Diary entry No. 4 is here! Lol.

Last time I wrote we were heading to the D-League Showcase in Santa Cruz, California. The weather out there was a little rainy, but it was still slightly warm. As far as the games go, we unfortunately went 0-2. But we played some really good basketball for probably 95 percent of those games. Ronald Roberts BALLED OUT as usual (representing us in the 2016 D-League All-Star Game by the way!). Melvin Johnson showed how good of a scorer he is capable of being at any given moment! And Axel Toupane showed his extreme versatility with scoring, assisting, rebounding and playmaking at a very high level. He’s been on a tear as of late!

Those are just a few guys who stood out, but I feel like everyone helped themselves in those games out there. And although we didn’t get the wins, we definitely showed how good of a team we are becoming.

Speaking of which, we FINALLYYYYY got on a little winning streak! Won 6 in a rowww! We dropped our last game in Erie that would’ve made it 7 in a row, but we finally put some really good games together and found ways to win. It felt great to be on that winning streak and as exciting as it was, I KNOW we aren’t satisfied as a team. We’ve seen how well we can play when we all play together and the right way, so I fully expect us to continue stringing great games together.

Let’s see… Oh, if you guys ever have time, you can check my brother Ronnie Suggs out who’s playing at Bradley University and has been HOOPING these last few weeks especially. Only a freshman and he’s put up some big numbers in some big games for them. He was player of the game a couple times just in the last week or so!

Also, my brother right underneath me, Skyler Suggs, is preparing for his professional football career after just graduating from Lindenwood University, where he just finished his senior season. NFL teams be on the lookout for him! HE. IS. A. BEAST. And he just did an interview for an NFL Prospects site. Check it out here!

And on the off chance that any of you ever drive by Washington, MO, you can check out my youngest brother, Cason Suggs, hoopin’ it up on varsity as a sophomore!

OK, last thing, I’d just like to thank my teammates and coaches. I’ve been selected to participate in the D-League Three-Point Contest at All-Star Weekend and I couldn’t have done it without them! Most importantly, I want to thank God for the abilities He has given me as well as the opportunities. And for the AMAZING family I’ve been blessed with. In that alone, God has given me more than I deserve and I’m forever grateful!
